Proclivity: Man’s Greatest Sin

“Discipline your sexuality for it has the proclivity to cause a productivity that can influence now and posterity.”

― Ifeanyi Enoch Onuoha

Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines proclivity as a strong natural liking for something that is usually bad: a tendency to do something that is usually bad. Human beings have an inherent nature to be attracted to the things we shouldn’t or what society tells us we should not desire. I will use a more appropriate example that ties in with the quote above. For instance, the world tells women to discipline their sexuality because premarital sex is considered a sin.

Yet, when men engage in the same activities there is nothing wrong with it? The world we live in has far too many double standards. I am not advocating for anything. This is simply just an observation. I wouldn’t define those who deviate from societal norms as bad people. Human beings are naturally curious creatures. We are all just wanderers trying to figure out who we are and what we want out of this life. There is not a single saint on this planet because we are each sinners.
